Why the right charging cable is important

  • Compatibility - Type 2 is the most commonly used standard in Europe, but there are also cables for Type 1 or combined variants. Choosing the right connector is key to trouble-free charging.

  • Length and practicality - standard cables are 4-7 meters long. Shorter cables are easier to store, while longer ones are more convenient when charging at public stations.

  • Power - cables differ in the current they support (16 A / 32 A) and phases (1-phase, 3-phase), which determines the maximum charging speed.

Main advantages of a high-quality charging cable

  • Safety - certified cables protect against overheating and comply with European standards.

  • Versatile use - suitable for home wallboxes, public charging stations, and travel chargers.

  • Long service life - durable materials and high-quality insulation ensure reliable use even with daily charging.

How to choose a charging cable

  • By connector - check whether your car uses Type 1 or Type 2. Most European vehicles have Type 2.

  • By length - a shorter cable is sufficient for home charging, while we recommend a longer one, usually around 7 meters, for public stations.

  • By power - if your electric car supports 3-phase charging, choose a 32 A / 22 kW cable, otherwise a 1-phase 16 A / 3.7 kW or 7.4 kW cable will suffice.

How charging cables fit into the Elvix range

  • Charging cables complement wall chargers even if the original cable length is not sufficient for you.

  • Also check out the Accessories section, where you will find travel cases for cables and more.

  • For convenient everyday use, we recommend having one cable at home for your wallbox and another in your car for public charging.
